I think so many of these cards are underrated or ignored because the focus of too many standard players is on what "meta". So if it is not one of the proven decks of the competitive meta scene then they discredit its potential. It is an annoying trend I'm seeing even at my own LGS.
Only a few of us believe in making "fun decks", budget decks or playing "Kitchen Table" magic. So when my UG Merfolk deck showed up at FNM and went undefeated I think I gave a few people mild heart attacks. Needless to say I've been warned not to bring it back lol. NArrow minded/focused players is why we can get these cards for so cheap. Which works out for us!
Let them continue! :D

in my opinion. Dire Fleet Poisoner is the best creature removal! Why? It doesn't care about hexproof.

You were so correct with tomb robber, jadelight ranger and him make the explore deck insane because you get to have a late game engine for life and your curve into 3 becomes ridiculous. The updated deck has some serious legs as I tested beating my friends that were piloting Temur, approach, and pummeler. Make sure when making an update to cut wayfinder and diviner as well as shaving squire and Deadeye

I’m so glad you have Path of Mettle as number one. The other thing I love about it is it locks out people swinging with one creature so if they know you play Settle the Wreckage they can’t attack with all creatures, but can’t attack with just one.

I feel you on that Elenda comment. It's real expensive, but I've had this idea for a Yahenni, Anointed Procession, Elenda, Bishop of the Bloodstained combo in my head for days now.

Couldn't agree more with jadelight ranger...what, its a 3 mana 4/3 in worst case scenario? Or its a 3/2 that draws you a card or a 2/1 that draws you two cards? Yeah they have go be lands they were gonna get pulled from the deck anyway in 99.9% of scenarios. I really like the card, but I don't think I'm being bias. I bet it ends up at 10$ or 12$ easy...

People seem to forget with journey to eternity that you don't need to play it on curve. You can wait until your opponent taps out if you need to, because the deck you're playing it in isn't going to be super aggressive.

The power of a resolved journey is so strong it's probably unbeatable. Sure, cast out feels bad, but put it on something you can fatal push if you need to and you're still up card advantage if they cast out your guy and you kill it.

Or you need a sac outlet like Yahenni to blank their exiles. But considering how common Vraskas contempt is that could be a problem also.

Really expected to see Path of Discovery on this list. It's a rare that's already under $1, and all of the good stuff you said about tomb robber applies to Path of Discovery. They're both key pieces in a Golgari or Abzan explore deck. Toss in Lurking Chupacabra and Wildgrowth Walker and go to town.

Elenda see great in the B/W procession deck, the ability to to Sac servos to hidden stockpile can get her out out hand very quick if she's not removed immediatly
