How To Build The New Staff In No Man's Sky Echoes Update

This is how to build your own Staff in No Man's Sky Echoes. The Staff is a new type of Multitool in No Man's Sky and they are the first one that we can make ourselves! The Echoes update is here for No Man's Sky, and it brings a ton of new features and changes with it. The echoes update brings a new race called the Autophage, a robot race on the outer edges of the galaxy of No Man's Sky. These new robots have tons of new weapons, armors and technologies to add to No Man's Sky. We have new multitools, new armor sets, and even a new freighter dreadnaught!

I will be looking for an S Class location. Sounds like certain camps will let you build a S Class staff, but need to check

There needs to be a custom skull head now so we can look like Skeletor.

You can get better classes of staff with the exact same components, you just have to travel around and find another camp. It took me a few hours but I eventually got the exact staff I wanted with the right colours and an A class just from visiting different camps. The problem with upgrading at a space station terminal, you don't get the additional super charged slots you get if you can build it as an A/S class from the start.

The motes thing is a bug. Once you unlock all the cosmetics, they stop giving out motes, it's supposedly fixed in the latest experimental build.

You can manipulate the color of the staff too. I had a red Kristall head, a green middle part and rhe stuff. I put in the head first and the staff was red. I put the middle part first, the staff became green.

Man love the game, but out of all this update, the most I've been asking for is the freedom of color options for ships and the weapons

From experimenting, I believe it's only the head that brings the stats, but the location is also a factor. No 2 camps give you the same part at the same level or inventory

I thought for sure I would find the staff multi-tool after assembling the Construct in Cartographers 2. All it does is occupy a spot on the Nexus next to the multi-tool deconstruction station. I sure was glad that mean looking autophage turned out to be friendly

You can get motes at the original dissonant camps from the autophage heads

I found a red and green S class radiant staff location. All three parts are radiant. I wrote down the coordinates incase someone wants one.

I find it weird that the class & stats on a staff built with the same parts at different places will be different. Thankfully, there is a post on Discord which told me which parts and place to use.
