Shocking snags found at this new home!

I used to work for bellway homes and let me tell you, everything is done on price work so all the older boys used to take anything that could be done quick so they’d earn a killing whereas the younger guys like myself were left with all the slow and intricate work. I hated it. Also once they earned enough for the week they left and went home. The amount I had to snag at the end of the job was ridiculous. House builders in the uk should all be shut down. They’re a disgrace.

This is why we need to be allowed to withhold a certain amount of money until the customer signs it as satisfactory

The downpipe not being connected is more of an issue than you pointed out. If water discharges next to the foundation like that I could cause subsidence leading to expensive foundation repair.

We had nearly 800 snagging points on our new build, small building firm doing 8 houses. They sent chippys for plumbing jobs and vice versa. got down to 500 them took them to court. The judge comment on how nice the propertys looked from a distance and went ape shite on how they looked close up with faults etc. Found in our favour. we saw him 18 mths later as jobs still needed doing. got a local builder who fixed them and got half monies big companies need more policing on who they employ and who signs off on a job

If that’s a new build as a site manager if I handed that over I’d be ashamed and expect to be sacked!

I love these videos, they make me feel like a building God! Disgraceful! Who the hell is checking all these new builds! My friend paid 450k and the first shower they tried to take ended up downstairs along with the ceiling! The tile fitter had tiled over the pipe which hadn't been connected yet so my friends were very confused when no water came out of the shower rose!

Makes me wonder how many New Builds are bodged like this. People, who pay good money for such properties, need to check what they are buying. Well done for pointing this out to people.

U should see state of my flat mate, 3 years old and before I moved in I mentioned leaking balcony doors, they still leak ro this day nothing ever been done about them… network homes just don’t care

As a plumber/ bathroom fitter. I have had to pull apart several new build bathrooms where the developers Mysteriously disappear.
I have another one coming up in an executive home in a week or so.

Take the bath panel off in a new build it’s where they stash all the rubbish.

... lesson learnt... Never buy a new build unless you build it yourself.
