On the night of April 24, 2021, a 32-year-old fisherman was fishing near Kakadu National Park, Australia with three of his friends. While fishing, they stopped in order to cook dinner onboard the boat. Right in the middle of their preparations, a 16-foot saltwater crocodile lunged out of the water and landed in the boat. It then attacked the 32-year-old fisherman’s seat and injured him. Fortunately for the victim, his three friends were able to drive the beast away. When they checked up on him, they realized he only sustained minor injuries. He was taken to the Jabiru Health Centre for treatment. Rangers from the National Park began a search for the creature. The rangers also barricaded the river to prevent repeat occurrences of this kind of saltwater crocodile attack.
