Just made these for our family Christmas dinner. So bomb. Added Tablespoon of bacon fat to the sauce and 2 T of pineapple juice. Game changer

I love candied yams! I like to put walnuts in the food processor to grind them down a bit then when the yams come out of the oven sprinkle the walnuts over the top. Yummy!

I cook on a wood cook stove during winter. I use the same recipe put in baking dish and set it to the side where they cook very slowly while I'm baking the turkey and trimmings. Maybe they steam I'm not sure. Anyway I have achieved the same results putting my oven on the lowest setting and baking them over night covered. Amazing.

He makes everything look so good. I can taste these candied yams right now. I know they are sweet potatoes but I grew up buying sweet potatoes and making candied yams. Haha.

Wow! The end result is about what I end up with but I got there a different way. I boil my sweet potatoes until tender. Peel and slice into coins. I top each with a glob of butter and a big spoon of brown sugar. Then into the oven until melty and hot. This is how my momma taught me. I think I’m going to try your recipe. Thank you, John. 🙂
