And yes, Biz; that is indeed Steve Marriott. He formed Humble Pie when he split this band.

The Small Faces were the real working class band from London's East end

Steve Marriott to me was the greatest soul, blues, R&R singer of them all!

One of the most under rated British bands from the 60s.

I grew up listening to The Small Faces, I love everything they've done especially All Or Nothing, it's cool you reacted to them, don't see many reactions to them and it's a shame they were great!

Steve Marriott can out sing Rod Stewart any day and every day.

The female backing singer is P P Arnold She was a very good solo artist in her own right, well worth checking out some of her tunes.

3 Small Faces were in the Faces. The other joined Peter Frampton and the boys in Humble Pie. Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane and Kenny Jones joined Rod Stewart and Ron Wood to become the Faces

there have been times when I've put this song on after not hearing it for a while and just kept it playing all day...I needed to say this

THANK YOU for featuring my favorite '60's band (behind Beatles). in 1965, 3 Mod teenagers (Steve Marriott 17, Ronnie Lane 18, Kenney Jones 16) from the East end of London, ( along w/IanMcLagan, 19, on keys), formed a hot little R&B band. In Mod terminology a "Face" was a very important Mod, as in very cool! Since the tallest guy in the band was only 5'5, they called themselves the SMALL FACES". They exploded on the scene and were extremely popular creating hit after hit and tearing up Europe playing live. To quote Rolling Stone (from Steve's obituary): "The Small Faces created a brilliant mix of frenetic soul, wry cockney charm and acid pop playfulness, topped by Marriott's electrifying vocal style". After three years, Steve got sick and tired of being labeled a "teen Idol" and wanted to harden up their sound by adding another hot guitarist he had befriended, by the name of PETER FRAMPTON. The other three said NO!, so on New Years eve 68/69 during yet another concert where they couldn't even hear themselves for all the girls screaming, Steve got fed up, threw his guitar down and walked off stage, quitting the band. He and Peter formed a band they called HUMBLE PIE. The remaining 3 SMALL FACES added Rod Wood and ROD STEWART from the Jeff Beck Group and changed their name to FACES.
Small Faces played a variety of styles Pop, R&B, soul, rock, psychedelia, whimsy and music hall - all great. Any of the songs listed in the comments are good, but I think their best songs were their very creative album cuts. I would recommend you start with their early works and move forward through their changing styles.
You MUST start with "You Need Lovin" - it will blow your mind if you love Zeppelin as Robert Plant idolized Marriott and copied his vocal style early on. "All or Nothing", "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" (Jimi Hendrix said this guitar solo was one of his favorites) are early R&B favorites. Too many more to list here now.... PLEASE play more.
Sadly, they never came over to the US with the other British Invasion bands, so alot of people in the US have never heard of them.

Steve Marriott was utterly besotted with PP Arnold before this colaboration & I think they formed a relationship during this time. I love the way it's filmed and the way she is is put on a pedastle as an object of desire. Just beautiful!

A band from my neck of the woods. No, The Faces are a different band. Steve Marriott was dating PP Arnold, the girl singing here. Great band.

Biz, the girl here, PP Arnold, is worth checking out in her own right.

Steve Marriott was Robert Plant’s idol! Robert absolutely loved him. David Bowie used to hang out with him in the 60s. What a voice!

If you like Humble Pie and Faces, you're going to dig Small Faces too. Lots of cool tunes to be discovered. Itchycoo Park, Whatcha Gonna Do About It, Sha La La La Lee, Lazy Sunday, You Need Loving (which inspired Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love), plus a bunch more.

Yeah, Small Faces time!! Small Faces were a badass Mod band, close friends w/The Who. "All Or Nothing" and "Afterglow of Your Love" are 10 out of 10, Biz.

Steve and pp arnold (the backing singer) i believe were lovers at this point. Its on record that they were briefly involved, so It may have been another time im not sure, i just know they remained close friends for all his short life. Shes now really close to his daughter as well.

Steve mariott was in a class of his own. His voice was magical and hypnotised everyone. He gave joy, solace and love to everyone through his singing, unfortunately these gifts were not reciprocated as he would not have fallen as he did.
