I have owned the JD5065E and now own the Kubota for about 1 1/2 years. I have 3 wheel weights on each rear wheel and liquid in them. It is much more user friendly than the JD. I'm 78 years old and I've owned and operated tractors for many years. Years ago JD were better built than they are today. Kubota is about like owning a Honda or Toyota, you don't have down time like the JD. I put about 500 hours a year on the tractor. I've bought 3 new JDs and 2 of them had major problems .No more JDs for me.

And as big of a Deere fan as I am, the number one pet peeve I have with Deere is that they need to do away with their JD quick attach loader attachments and go ahead and standardize to SSQA like everyone else has. I know it’s optional on a Deere but it needs to be standard, it’s 2018! That is just Deere’s need to feel exclusive.

Thanks for all the good information! This gave me a lot to think about.

I love how he tries to turn positives from the Kubota to a negative- “the battery is the first thing you see under the hood of the Kubota with nothing over it, but John Deere’s is under a bunch of stuff and is harder to get but it’s better.” “The skid steer attachments are great, but you risk being stupid and picking up attachments that are too big.” This is a pretty biased “comparison” and makes me want to get a Kubota even more, just because of this guys horrible comparison

Awesome video review! Five months ago I got myself a used 2004 John Deere X575 garden tractor with 4x4 it had 490 hours on it now it has about 545 hours on it and it came with a 54 inch mower deck and it is a awesome tractor to mow the yard with!

Nevermind that he passed right over the proprietary RPM button to hold rpm's even to save fuel while pumping extra fluid to the pto. Oh and the nifty dual latch on the loader that gives you the choice of an extra foot to height or extra power for a heavier load.

Great comparison and very informative.  Could tell you favor the Deer though, LOL but great comparison.  On the FEL disconnect you could argue the placement on the inside would better protect the connections, where on the Deer it is outside where it could be struck and damaged.  And yes on the labeling, the Kubota could use more labeling.  Nothing against the Deer, but love my Kubota.  Thanks!!!

This is an interesting video. I would have liked to know why you focused so much on the weight when the fluid in the tires more than compensated. I don't know if there is a benefit to having the weight in the metal vs in the tires. It would seem that they both would accomplish the same objective with negligible difference. Regardless, I appreciate the fact that you took the time to make the video. You pointed out several things that I was unaware of on both machines.

'And lastly guys one thing I didn't hit on is..is the colour of the Deere coincidently matches the SAME colours of the logo on my shirt!'. This isn't so much a comparison but simply an exercise in pointing out the dislikes on the Kubota! Indian vs Japanese, open your eyes guys!

John Deere definitely seems more user friendly and ergonomic. The big neat thing about the Kubota is the ability to use skid steer attachments. I would love to be able to run a small forestry mulcher from a front end loader and not have to buy a CTL. As far as battery placement, I don't think I really like either. On the Kubota it will be blocking air flow to the radiator, but on the John Deere it is hanging down and could catch on a log or something if you're being careless. The metal box it is in seems sturdy but you're still losing some ground clearance.

What military discounts do each offer? Been looking at this same HP range in JD, Kubota and MF. JD is dealer is 15 miles away, MF 1 hour, and Kubota is 2 hours (went out of business near me). Don't mind hauling them in if price is right. Also looked at Branson (nervous on long term support with them...though they have great deals), Mahindra (support worries me), and Yanmar (too far away). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I was recently hired on as part of plant operations for a local hospital. They have several tractors they use for different jobs throughout the year. One of the tractors they have is the Deere 5065e. Your video was VERY helpful. Thank you!

The reason I ended up getting a Kubota was the skid steer attachments, I own so many of them and the 5055 I was looking at in my area dealer did not have it, it was special order.
