Kaylie & Gavin are back for another unboxing, and this week is rather special.
Rolex and the exploration of the world’s greatest depths is a story that goes back to the 1950s, when the Piccards (father and son) took the Trieste Bathyscaphe down to the Mariana Trench, with an exceptional Rolex watch attached to the exterior of their submarine.
Fast forward to 2012 when Rolex broke another record with movie director James Cameron, providing an experimental Deepsea Challenge watch that accompanied Cameron on his historic 10,908-metre (35,787-foot) descent. And what were prototypes are now becoming a reality as Rolex unveils the Oyster Perpetual Deepsea Challenge 126067, an 11,000m water-resistant watch and the first full titanium model of the brand.

The object itself is awesome but frankly with that size is like to put a cast iron manhole at the wrist.

Watch suitable only for Predator. I have a DSSD - plenty big enough for me, but my next watch treat will be the Omega Ultra Deep, with a flip of the coin to decide s/s or Ti.

I tried one on at my local Wos. I have a 20cm wrist and felt I could pull it off ok until I looked down the barrel and it’s like a hockey puck on your wrist. 🤣🤣

of course its gonna be beefy its a watch with a specific use fucking thing can go down to around 39 thousand feet that the pressure of around 2 elephants standing on it think about that so no wonder its 30 grand this watch is incredible in every detail

Saw it at Bucherer here in Geneva. Unwearable, looks like some sort of window display gadget. Would look good for deco in a fishtank tho. The Omega Ultra Deep black on steel down the road at Omega Rue du Rhone looked way better.

This watch was designed to go to the bottom of the Mariana Trench - the deepest part of the ocean. It was attached to the robotic arm (on the wrist) of the submarine, and survived. It was on James Cameron's Deepsea Challenge documentary. Yes that's James Cameron the director of Avatar. He's an explorer also, and piloted the sub. V Cool. This is one Rolex that has the engineering to justify the price.

I never thought Rolex would start copying invictus for unwearable watches😂😂😂

I got the 44mm Deep Sea and can just about handle it. This one is for maximum 3% of the male population, as they say a showpiece, not a watch that can be used really. But it will be fun to look at and to be able to hold one.

Would love to handle one. For me my Subbie is perfect. The SD43 too head heavy and the JC frankly silly. But this monster is just insane.
