I used to have chinchillas. It's been almost 20 years since the last one died and I really want more. But I don't have the space for them. They're pack animals and need at least one companion. I watch info videos to learn more about their care, should I someday have the space for two.

One thing for people with allergies to keep in mind; Chinchillas are very allergy friendly pets and suitable for most. They do need to eat hay, which isn't suitable for most. If you can't give them hay, don't get a chinchilla. Hay is a vital component of their diet and keeps their teeth short. Without hay they might get health issues and overgrown teeth.

This list is dumb, most of the list is generally true but my chins are happy in a warmer room, with my kids who are sometimes noisy but it's how you handle it. If you just let you kids scream and don't watch them or your chins then yeah they'll be hurt and unhappy. They're living creatures who feel so keep that in mind and you will be a good chin owner.
