The Winter War simplified version.

The Winter War was between Soviet Union and Finland it started on 30 November 1939, when Finland refused to give lands to Soviet Union. Soviet union wanted some extra lands around Leningrad so they could protect it better.

Unfortunately the war itself didn't go as expected for Soviet Union. Finland was well organized and resisted pretty well against Soviet Union. But in the Finland lost and had to Sign The Moscow Piece Treaty, which gave 11 percent of lands to Soviet Union.

I think the most embarrassing war would be the Russo-Japanese war, which the naval battle they had lasted 45 minutes and ended with Japan winning by a landslide

And to Finland came many Swedish people (and some Hungarian) who want to fight for Finland
But I know this support was tiny and didnt matter in battle with as big country as Soviet Union
