This brings back so many memories of my childhood. My dad, S.C. Low was bandmaster of the Royal Marines Band, Portsmouth until 1945 and whenever the band was playing at home in a parade or bandshell my Mum would take me to watch. He fought on our ships all during WWII as the band was in charge of the artilliary on board ship. We were so fortunate their ship wasn't sunk and Dad came home to us again.

I like to sing this in the bathtub when I take a long bubble bath and imagine the bubbles and suds are icebergs and ice floes of the Arctic Ocean

I may be American but I really like this song and I actually listen to it more than a couple of times a week either on a day off or when I’m leaving work. It’s pretty catchy and cool

Reminds me of Friday afternoon divisions if you didn’t do March past in a straight line if not round again until you got it right. If you didn’t get it right then weekend leave cancelled and back Saturday morning

It is a fact of all human history that the children of the English waves brought love and civilization to the world.
From the other side of the world.
