No 24/7 recording for a wired/powered camera is a dealbreaker!

I don’t understand why they made so many different SKUs for this thing. They could have made it both PoE and WiFi (dual band WiFi ain’t that expensive) and include a PoE to USB-C adapter. Also why the different storage for online vs retail. Using this product for live A-B testing was a bad idea.

I love this detailed review. As everyone’s comes out on the same day now, it’s easy to compare the review depth… and the award goes to…!

The nighttime color view looks very good. I do agree, however, that the lack of continuous recording on a POE camera is a big miss. POEs were made for continuous recording!

Finally, it’s good to see that Shane has one part of the house as disorganized as the majority of my house.

Great review, thanks. As far as I know this is the first POE camera with native HomeKit support on the market. I’ve been looking for awhile and most of my searches just bring up the bridge options like Homebridge with Nest which I know you’ve covered.

I’ve had mine for about a week and have noticed the event recording is a lot more accurate in the Aqara app then with Apple secure video. There’s been several occasions motion is recorded on the Aqara app and not on Apple video

Love your content. Watch ya all the time keep it coming. Did you have an issue with 2 button coming up in your Apple home when connecting it as a hub and a camera. Everytime I connect my Aqara mini switch with both hub and camera in Apple Home it puts 2 switches into my Apple Home. For now I didn’t connect the it as hub but wondering if there’s something else that can be done. Thanks in advance.

Good review and content! Appreciate your time in reviewing new products! I laughed when I saw the price. For the price of one Aqara camera, I can buy two high quality AmCrest cameras and an RPI4 4GB to setup scrypted and other smarthome devices. AmCrest is the way to go!
