Lesson 10.1 - Proof of the Midpoint Formula

In the following video we prove the Midpoint Formula by using the distance formula to show the midpoint creates two congruent segments & the slope formula to show that the coodinate of the midpoint is located on the line segment.

You're using the point M as if it's given to you in the problem, but that's actually what you want to prove! You can't use the thing you want to prove (x1+x2/2) as part of your proof.

Why did you put everything under a square root and square everything? Seems unnecessary.
