I remember when I had tried this experiment in my class 7th and now in 10th..

Citric acid in lemon reacted with base in detergent and neutralized the basic solution and hence decreases red colour formed due to base

Jis jis ma organic colour hota h such as turmeric, any flower if boiled in water act as an indicator

I am also noted it while washing new cloth were some amount of turmeric is applied in the corner

Termeric is a natural indicater . It mix with base then it turn red colour but when it mix with acid, no change
