Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden 2023

Video shows our visit to the UNESCO world heritage site at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden 13th August 2023.
A stunning Abbey dissolved by Henry VIII which was purchased by William Aislabie in 1767 to complete his fathers vision of a stunning water garden to impress visitors to the Studley Royal estate.
The site is operated by National Trust.

Always a favourite place to visit and enjoy a walk. Next week we are staying in a Trust Cottage close by. They give us a key to access the site out of hours. We are looking forward to visiting when no-one else is about.

I wonder what dictates a buyer's decision as to whether a restoration should be done...? I'm assuming the scale of the cost has to be a factor; also, though, I guess permission would have to be sought from various sources...
