2020 Toyota Corolla | First Drive

The Toyota Corolla has been a hot seller for decades and now it's redesigned for 2020 with some new powertrains, including a hybrid model. We head to Savannah, GA to get our First Drive.

As a previous owner of a 2016 Corolla with CVT I can say that I will avoid any CVT like the plague. Never again.

I think I'm gonna keep my 10th gen 2010 Toyota Corolla S, I'm satify, I like the 12th gen 2020 Toyota Corolla SE, and XSE models because its looks sporty, if you get black, red, blue, and dark grey colors. If it was turbocharged 2.0L, it could add 55 more horsepower, and 48 more torque to the wheels. You will be embarrassed if you get a L, LE, XLE, and the new hybrid. But the 1.8L is not a bad engine, but the style its too plain and dull. I say, opt up with the SE, and XSE and you would be satifed with its sporty styling and features.

My 2018 accord lx is rated for the same mpg as the base trim corolla L! More power and torque as well! CVT and turbo power go well together

Still missing Android Auto. The back seat is a little more cramped then the previous generation

To replace a cracked windshield with this safety sense stuff is big bucks as cameras have to be recalibrated

I like the price point and nothing changed majorly. Smart move Toyota. I think what this will have over many cars in it’s segment is cost of ownership. Civic turbo is fun but way more cash when engine requires attention. Kia Forte comes standard cool seat and other electronic’s gadgets in the end costing big hunks of cash. Other compacts also stray from the original idea and price point. I see a huge problem coming fairly soon with cars cost, consumers and dealers.

How much cheaper do you think this car would be without the stupid digital, dash, a standard radio, and crank windows. They should put all that extra money into a better ride quality.

The front has to grow on me I prefer the hatchback styling
