The Sims 3 Seasons vs The Sims 4 Seasons// Which is better?

The Sims 4 has been around for a while now, some would say it has overstayed it’s welcome! I’ve been seeing a few posts lately from simmers who are missing some of the best bit we got in the sims 3 and I’ve heard that the word on the street is that the sims 3 is better than the sims 4. Well I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and find out which game is better in a new comparison series where I’ll be looking at the top features of the sims 3 and sims 4 games and expansion packs to conclude which sims game is best.
This is the fifth video in this series and this time we are comparing the sims 3 seasons with the sims 4 seasons!
Re-visiting these packs made me realise how good both of them are in their own way. The sims 3 seasons had those awesome seasonal festivals with activities to do! Plus we had Halloween!
The Sims 4 also introduced the ability to choose which holidays your sims celebrate with the new calendar system, but where is Halloween?

Every time I watch one of these videos, I highly debate downloading the Sims 3. I have only ever played sims 4, but now I understand why so many people love sims 3 and are disappointed with the sims 4 quite often. Love these videos! 💕

Sims 4 seasons is honestly one of the best packs for the sims 4 but it still doesn’t beat ts3 seasons for me. It comes with some great gameplay mechanisms with wide usability unlike most of the expansion packs in the sims 4 but it just misses out a bit on the level of immersion. The weather just doesn’t feel as real (lack of snow depth and other such small details that really make the weather feel all affecting) and the holidays border on annoying because they are less things to enjoy and more a list of things to do. That could be fixed if your played sims would autonomously do actions based on the day and their traits if you had free will on

I never had the chance to play the sims 3 when I was younger, so watching this video and seeing the sheer amount of gameplay in one singular sims 3 pack genuinely shocked me. To have even half of that amount of gameplay in the Sims 4 you would need an expansion pack, a game pack and a stuff pack. I never understood the Sims 4 hate and slander until now.

The Sims 3 is still hands down my favourite Sims game so far! It's unmatched and when you throw in some cc it's amazing

Sims 3 Seasons wins hands down for me. Especially since I love playing with Ocults (although the Zombie occult is the worst), and I just love the festivals (and while you can create holidays in Sims 4, you can add aspects to festivals to make them even more immersive and unique). Not having my favorite holiday, "Spooky Day, " was also the deal breaker for me.

Someone needs to mod the calendar into Sims 3 so we can just transition right over to 3 instead. It's the only thing I ever miss when I'm playing it, at least in terms of Seasons (I always miss the gallery bc I hate building haha)

I've been playing Sims since the game first launched about 21 years ago.
Personally for me, the Sims 3 overall is my favorite iteration.
The Sims 4 is great, don't get me wrong. But IMHO, the Sims 3 is better in a lot of ways. I think that the difference between Seasons in both 3 and 4 is a perfect example of how, for me, 3 is better in a lot of ways.

I liked The Sims 4 calendar feature and hot weather wear was a good addition, but The Sims 3 wins easily, just bc of treat and trick, deep snow, fog, hail and festivals

This is the one match-up where TS4 genuinely gives TS3 a run for its' money, in my opinion. Probably because they're so similar. The big feature each of them has that the other doesn't- TS3's festivals and TS4's customizable holidays- are both SO good that I don't know which is more important to me.
