Mac Sinise’s beautiful journey at the Gary Sinise Foundation mirrors that of his father, Gary Sinise – a journey from self to service. Transitioning from a rockin’ musician to a full-time employee for our mission, he found his passion in bridging the civilian-service member divide. I had the great pleasure of watching Mac grow in his role at GSF and the joy he found in sharing not only his dad’s story but his own, woven into the very fabric that makes GSF what it is today. When his cancer fight became too tough, Mac and I started discussing other ways he could continue his support of our nation’s heroes and their families. That’s when, together, we came up with the Gary Sinise Foundation Podcast. He was so excited that he could continue to work without the strains of leaving his home. From those early conversations, he shared his passion to shine a light on the stories of sacrifices made by those who serve. We were blessed to have Mac host Episodes 1 & 2 of the Gary Sinise Foundation Podcast. The first was with our longtime video producer, Kip Perry, whom Mac wanted to highlight, knowing Kip is always behind the scenes (shot Dec 21, 2019). The second is with his father, Gary Sinise, a delightful father-and-son coming together on a shared mission. Simply kismet.

Mac’s pivotal work in expanding our reach and deepening the connection between the guardians of our freedom and the citizens they protect will continue in his honor.

I remain forever grateful to have served alongside Mac Sinise.

Mac, what a beautiful, soothing voice you have. Us most enjoyable thing to you and your dad talk and joke around.

Gary, it was great listening to you going to the VA and talking with the vets with your cast and listening to their stories so your movies were based upon what they heard From each of them.

My heartfelt sympathies to the entire Sinise Family on losing your precious Mac to cancer.

I listen to the most current one first and so enjoyed his music and harmonica playing. I could visualize him playing the harmonica and continuing writing new music with us, magnificent band and orchestra of those who passed sharing their love of music with him.

Thank you for doing these podcasts and I've gotten to know both of you through them.

God bless SINISE foundation

For honoring these veterans who have given all to keep us safe and free.

Betty Gordon, Iowa

My three brothers served a total of 102 years and one National Guard! Two had 40 years plus in the army Guard and the other one 22 years and the air guard. None of them went to war.

One other son so did go to Iraq for 9 to 12 months and survived.

I had one guy in 1971 tell me he would get himself killed over there and I often wonder if he did
