i have the wide beam on top and combo on bottom. Unreal. I have hid headlights with phillips extreme bulbs. With the wide beams on the white light is incredible. Every crack, hole or road imperfection is so visible. When i put on the combo beams, forget it . It is unreal. I never thought i would have lights like this. IT looks like daytime. When i turn off the wide beam and have on just my hid, s, they look yellow !!! I am going to put another pair wide beam just above lower spoiler. Chris is not exaggerating. And is an expert. I have photos of them on, but does not do Justice to the actual light output. I cannot seem to post my pics

Agreed.
Only spot lights won’t be good enough for the average driver due to the tunnel effect.
- We (the average ones) needs a wide pattern to eliminate the tunnel vision.

On fog lights …
There is no universal standard when it comes to auxiliary lights. Some manufacturers call pencil beam or wide beam auxiliaries ‘fog lights’ when they are NOT!

A true fog light assembly is placed at the lowest point of the from bumper. On tonic that, it creates a beam pattern that is flat is disc. Because there is a space between the ground/road/street that is clear, meaning there is a few inches if clear air under the fog. That’s the area where the flat fog beam is dedicated for.

Only the "NCS level that's not as bright" 7:44. If the amber/yellow ones are not as bright, can you use the HXB combo in a A-piller?

I was considering two interior, grill mounted, amber spots (hxb) to cut through heavy fog. I would have two white hxbs in the fog light position with wide beam. In heavy fog, I would turn both on to get a combo white/yellow effect. They say that the two combined increase depth perception. I’m hoping it will be 2x as effective for those really bad snow and fog conditions. Does this sound plausible?

I want to install lights on my F150, I should put yellow HXB combos on my A pillars and eventually yellow HXB SAE wide beams on my fogs, right for the best output? The A pillars would be first.

I work in northern Alberta. Unfortunately in the last 2 years I've hit 2 different moose since my (2006 silverado 2500hd) headlights don't illuminate the ditches well. I'm looking for an a-pillar set up that will give me some light off to the sides wired with my high beams maybe. Could you point me in the right direction? I'd definitely appreciate it.

On reverse lights … ALWAYS go for the wide spread lights. Always!

-Because that’s what you need when reseeding in the dark, wide lights.

I really appreciate your videos. I’m trying to replace my fog lights on my jeep jk and am between the morimoto hxb amber or the bajadesigns sae Squadron. I also recently bought the morimoto super7. Do you guys have a recommendation?

Combos of pencil/wide beam are never good in extreme conditions. And the extreme is what you should aim for because it will be more flexible when wired and used correctly.

I’m looking for a light pattern for installing on my A-Pillars of a 2023 F-150. I want the dark shoulders of the highways at night to be covered in light while driving. What beam pattern should I go for ?

I have an after market bumper with slots for fog lights, do you think it's a good ideia using 1 wide and 1 spot on each side?

Beam pattern not covered here is the flood beam pattern. What about using them on the a pillar mounted pod if you already have fog lights a combo beam and a spot up front plus a fullsize lightbar on top of the windshield. ie: pointing them out oard and actually using them as ditch lights. What's better in this scenario, flood, wide or combo? I feel like combo will be too intense, and wide might not have the height desired for this purpose.

But for street driving do you recommend the combo? I don’t want to light up peoples house or sidewalk.

Are wide hxb 4bangers on the A pillar street legal?

I think spotlight beams are perfect for on the road driving in the middle of nowhere, anything above 50mph and they’re great in combination with OEM headlights.

I had a '91 blazer with 5 KC style spotlights mounted to the roof rack, and two wide beam lights, one on each side, aimed perpendicular to the blazer. KC's #1, #3 and #5 faced forward. #2 and #4 faced to the rear. With them all turned on at the same time, along with the side lights, I let up the woods like a UFO from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
I guess the neighbors we had decades ago had never seen them on before, and one night the wife came around the curve on one end of our U-shaped street, while the neighbors were standing at their car with a huge bag of "herb" on the hood. When the wife hit the light switches and they all lit up at once, you should have seen the frenzy next door. Both guys slung the big bag back and forth, each trying to make the other one take it and run. It ended up with one guy ripping the bag open and flinging the contents all over their front yard.
When they realized it was our blazer, as she was pulling up to the drive really slow, they started cursing the craziest storm of colorful words I'd ever heard. All I could do was laugh and gasp for breath.
