What hit me the hardest about this is how this short can be applied to any facet of life. You interact and make new friends in different places and time periods of your life. While you’re living you don’t normally think that some day it will end. Some day the people you’re laughing and bonding with will be a memory and you’ll wonder how you let it happen, only to realize the only consistent thing in life is change. I think we all have those childhood friends we were close with at some point that faded from our life and you always wonder where are they now and if they still remember you as you remember them.

When your irl friends stopped playing the game you'd all been playing together for 5-10 years.
When you get the final upload notification from the YouTube duo/trio channel you watched since freshman year of highschool.
When you finally notice that the guy you met playing a game online who constantly talked about how difficult his life was and how depressed he was hasn't signed into Steam for 3 years.
When you now feel guilty spending more than 40-60 minutes per day playing games because the bills don't pay themselves, but you used to blow entire weekends gaming and would hop on the Xbox immediately after getting home from school every weekday when you were a kid.
When you receive yet another letter saying that another one of your highschool buddies you haven't connected with since graduating has killed himself.
When you now spend every summer and winter going to work every day and trying to convince yourself this is the life you wanted instead of hanging out with friends and going on walks to nowhere in particular.
When you start noticing the new streamers/YouTubers you find and enjoy are almost a decade younger than you are.
When you only really enjoy playing remakes/remasters of games you played as a teen, which you only liked because you played them with friends whom you haven't spoken to in at least 8 years.

Zoomers, it doesn't get any easier. You just try to find new reasons to keep going. It may seem hard to be productive right now because of rona, but eventually this will pass, and the free time you have away from school or work right now will be gone. Don't wait to start your life - nothing is handed to you, pieces do not fall into place for you. Make mistakes and learn.
