When I was around 8 years old, my "friend" stole my bike. He removed the basket and the bell and tried to pass it off as his. When I went to his house to take it back, he told his mom that I was trying to take HIS bike. When I tried to explain that I had proof it was mine, she told me to be quiet and she was taking me home and having a talk with my mom. My Mom let her rant and then told her to turn the bike over. They didn't know that my mom wrote my name in permanent marker on the bottom of the chain guard.

In Vancouver, British Columbia this year someone had their backpack stolen. In this backpack was a talking stuffed bear. It had a recording of the persons recently passed mother on it. This bear was lost for about a week or so and then someone returned it to the police who got it back to the owner. Ryan Reynolds was even offering a reward for this bear when it was lost.

My friends grandma had her car broken into, but there wasn't really a lot to take, so they took a couple coins worth like 20 cents

I went shopping one afternoon and left my powerfully built Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog Sam outside the supermarket. When i came out not even 10 minutes later, he was gone. For three weeks I searched for Sam but no one had seen him. He had been trained by me to obey commands in Maltese as well as in English, so he was a special dog. I trained him in both languages. Three weeks later I get a call from a friend called Terry, who said he saw my dog Sam in a pub nearby in the possession of a black man. The man said he had owned the dog all its life. So to prove that the dog actually belonged to me, Terry asked the pub owner to help him prove the dog Sam was my dog. My friend Terry spoke a bit of Maltese too thankfully. So Terry gave the pub owner a piece of paper with 4 commands written in English on it. Then Terry said "I will tell Sam the commands on the piece of paper, one at a time, but I will tell Sam the commands in Maltese". He said "if the dog obeys the Maltese commands, then the guy who stole the dog would have to teturn it. But if the dog didn't understand the Maltese commands then the dog theif could keep the dog" The dog theif agreed and they used the pub owner as Judge.
So, my friend Terry told Sam to sit in Maltese...the dog sat down. Then he told Sam to lay down in Maltese, the dog lay down, then he told Sam to play dead in Maltese, the dog play dead. And finally he told Sam to bunny hop like a rabbit in Maltese, and the dog obeyed him and hopped around until Terry told him to stop.

After the pub owner agreed that the dog did indeed belong to me, the man who stole my dog Sam, cried his eyes out. When he gave me my dog back he begged my forgiveness and asked if Sam had any puppies. Well it just so happened that we had a breeding pair and Sam was soon going to become a daddy for the second time in four years.. The man whole stole Sam had really looked after him well, and I was grateful for that. So when Sam's puppies were born, a litter of 5 males and one huge female, I gave one male pup who looked like its daddy, to the dog theif. He wasn't a bad man to my way of thinking, and I became good friends with him. Turns out that he just loved dogs but had no money to buy one, he was after one of that breed (that breed goes for prices in the £100+'s) This all took place in the middle of the 1980's in Brixton. South London. This was before it was common practice to microchip pets. Oh, and contrary to what some people say, Staff Bull Terriers are only vicious when provoked like any dog, or any animal for that matter Generally speaking they are extremely loving and affectionate dogs who are intelligent and are easily trained. If you raise them to gentleness then what you put into them is what you get out. That is the same with animals the world over, and about people too for the most part. I won't be offended if you don't comment on this story as its rather long and boring, in that way that true life stories often are. This is the first time since the event took place that I'm thinking about it. Perhaps I should write a memoir for my childrens childrens children. Call it "Life in 20-21st centurys" lol no one would buy it hahaha
