Poor guy lol. I would MUCH rather stay at a hotel. You just want to check in, relax, go to a nice hotel which serves you dinner and breakfast the next day...’serves’....not go get your own bloody cereal mate, simple, simple, simple. Someone’s house?? No way. I’m not knocking the idea for a vacation, that sounds fine, but for business. No way. Jesus, imagine how a female employee would feel...alone, in someone’s house?...err. I was shocked when they introduced this for business travellers. It took me like 30 seconds to process it. Shudder.

Umm, so? Isn't this obvious? And yes, Joe, "eating dogfood" is a good analogy for some Airbnb experiences.

Yet he fails to realize how much impact his app has had on gentrification and the subsequent rise of rent which has affected so many families who can no longer afford to live in the neighborhoods they grew up in. Sure, you might get a more "human experience" but at what cost? Is it really worth it when you go to an airbnb that is owned by a private company that also owns the whole building? What human experience is that? It's nothing more than a hotel with worse socioeconomic effects.
