This is definitely the easiest way to build a five point star. Thanks for sharing your skills.

Great project and video.
Some random observations:
Cut the pieces from a wider board and rip ¾" off for the front star before assembly.

If the front star was made slightly smaller it would leave a nice border/reveal. Glue the cellophane to the back side of the front star. Add a contrasting color or reflective accent (foil duct sealing tape?) or another string of lights.

Reflective back layer to easily "double" the number of lights.

Do I smell a star cutlist generator app?

Fantastic with lots of potential for colour schemes etc. I'm just wondering about concealing the battery pack whilst also making it accessible?

If you want to make the star bigger would the angles be the same?

Do you apply heat the cellophane to smooth it out? Using a heat gun or hair dryer?

What would cause the star to be off center. I use 1.5 x 1.5 wood. All corners are exactly as in the video. But just looking at the start, it's clearly 1/8 to 3/8" off center.

Haveing a really rough time getting my item sold, I waited a few days, then dropped the price and added ad boost, my listing has been “under review” for almost 16hours. Does anyone else have experience with this, I’m already below break even if I can sell this project (entryway bench) at all.
