Thank you for coming out with a 45 degree star because I only have a miter saw that will cut to 50 degrees and I need to make a jig to allow me to cut deeper angles and haven't yet. This will allow me to make these with what I have now so, Thank you!!

This is exactly the video i was looking for. I made three stars. I used the same method as you except my length was shorter. None of them came out as good as i would have liked. Too much of a gap to get a good glue joint. Two things I lerned.... I measured the ACTUAL length of my 45 degree cut. It was not 4 7/8". So I just put my part down on another one and used referential measurement instead. Second... my miter saw has 31.6 marked on it. So I used that instead. PERFECT!!!!

hello. i.ve made both angle stars too. they look great..should be using the push stick hold down on the miter saw.

I made the 54 degree star with my 45 miter saw. Just had to make a jig to hold the boards sideways, and could only make one point of the star at a time. Probably had more scrap than if my saw went bigger, but wood is cheaper than a new saw.
