Thank you so much for all your wonderful research and all these minidoc videos that you create. You're doing more to help me flesh out the worlds of my novels than I think you realize. You're the first scholar I look up when I need to know something specifically Canadian.

Thanks for the history lesson about other parts of the Niagara Region outside of The Falls. Although I'll readily admit that Niagara Falls has always been my favourite place to visit (I love that kitschy, touristy vibe) there's definitely more to see down there.

Good evening from Oshawa, Ontario.

Regards,
Shea Laking

Personally, I like Niagara on the Lake because of the trees and greenery (the streets with plants and flowers.

Last time I was at the falls was around 2014, showing a friend from Michigan around and I was shocked to learn that The Maid Of The Mist is owned by the Americans now. We saw it ferrying people to and from the falls. Must be a sad story of how we let the Americans get our Maid. I have fond memories of The Maid from the 60s and 70s as a kid. I don't remember the name of the ferry we took in 14.

The church graveyard is said to be haunted. No surprise!👻

They used to grow fruit in Niagara. Now they grow basements, destroying some the finest soil in the world. I fear in the not too distant future we'll come to regret eroding our ability to feed ourselves.

Brock did NOT die at the site of the monument.

I may sound like an old dude but I prefer people from urban centres (Toronto) to rethink their move. It’s beautifully different here and you may not be able to adjust.

The Niagara Falls tourist area is one of the biggest rip-offs in North America. They seem to want people to come once and take most of their money, rather than have it more affordable where people would make return trips. Not a very smart business model IMO. Nice video on the region though !

Niagara on the Lake should be ashamed of still allowing the horse carriage businesses. So many tourists and locals have signed petitions to stop this cruel practice.
