What Makes NASA Suits So Special?

Like a threadbare pair of pants your partner has pleaded with you to just chuck out, NASA’s aging Shuttle-era spacesuits are long overdue date with the trash can. One astronaut almost drowned wearing one, and high-profile spacewalks have been embarrassingly postponed lately due to their clunky unreliability.

So what will NASA’s new suits actually look like? How come zippers are out, but diapers are still very much in? Join us today as we flex in front of a changing room mirror and ponder why NASA’s new spacesuit cost $200million.

That's a seagull not an emu. I should know I ride one to school everyday when my kangaroo isn't going

As long as it works well...

I still dont know how astronauts scratch an itch inside one of those things. Maybe they just have to grin and bear it.

I think even a billion dollars spent on this stuff could be more beneficial than other things money is spent on. It may or may not work out financially, but imagine if it does and helps us learn more about our universe, ourselves, etc .... Hindsight may prove it to actually be priceless and what helps us leap into a future amongst the stars. Y'all have a great day! Beam me up, Scotty! ❤️

*The economic hardship, recession, unemployment and the loss of job caused by covid pandemic is enough to push people into financial ventures*

As an astronaut you meet another advanced race but your diaper is soiled.

Outer-spacesuits are a ruse but they are a100% authentic diving suite. Made especially for space-divers when they do their space-diving walks at the NBL!

200M$ they need to improve a lot better or a vacum drone will make that repair.with less money, controled from inside. just need presure air to make the movement and robotics arms.

Considering NASA once spent over $1M on a PEN! (They don’t even use) . I think $200M for a spacesuit is reasonable

I think 200million is too much, if u think about it, that's 100 starship flights for 1 space suit...

NASA doesn’t “bum” rides from SpaceX. The Crew Dragon was specifically designed for NASA with the heavy input of NASA engineers. The spacecraft are named and piloted by American crews
