All mammals are very very dependent on their parents to learn survival skills.

Whatever will raise that cloned baby mammoth will leave his/her imprint on that mammoth. We will NEVER know how the original mammoths behaved, what they ate, what were there mating rituals, how they organised themselves and so on..
