Agree that the DJI Supernight is oversharpened, but I think the the DJI looks overall sharper (look at the hair, the rocks at 4:20). I personally like the colors and look of the Ace Pro 2, but it looks soft compared to the DJI (look at 4:04).

Is it just me, or has the GoPro Hero 13 become the poster child for stagnation in tech? The image quality, both in low and high light, feels like it’s stuck in the past, especially when you stack it against the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 or DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. It’s almost like GoPro decided to hit the snooze button on innovation. It’s a reminder that in tech, resting on your laurels means you'll soon be resting in obsolescence. I'm watching on a 1080p display, but I can tell Insta360 and DJI completely destroys GoPro in terms of image quality, and part of the reason is both use advanced AI-assisted image processing algorithms to enhance clarity / dynamic range / color grading, while GoPro focuses more on straightforward capture. Under low light conditions, the GoPro footage almost looks unusable... Since I plan to use it for adventuring, low light video means I'd get clear walks in the forest even as the sun starts to set... or even underwater footage where lighting is low. GoPro is nice for people who want color accuracy, and minimal processing, but imo the other two just look better albeit sometimes looking unnatural or processed. Thank you for the comparison & review! All three are similarly priced, and I'm going to eliminate GoPro, and continue to research the other two options :)

Such a hard decision. They all have distinct and important pros & cons. If GoPro was good in low light I would have instantly gone with it since I prefer their colors & image in good daylight. Plus, they finally added gps back in. The backup audio options of the Action 5 (like pocket 3) are really good. And having the depth pressure sensor is fun and neat. The Ace Pro 2 seems really good, might be my fave currently which I was hoping it wouldn’t considering their shady marketing. Just wish it had 10 bit color and better slow motion.

Built in storage saved my butt in london when i realized my dashcam didnt have an sd card. So just popped it out of my action 5 and was able to continue using both for the trip.

GeminiConnect is always my go-to for these comparisons 👌 I'm interested in shooting in low light, but I feel like the problem of jittery footage is still there. DJI seems to handle it better based on the other reviewers I saw, especially with the recent firmware, but there are too many different ways to set it up. Could you please make a comparison? 🙏

Ace pro image in natural places or cyties is pretty good, but when recording faces the ace pro puts a strange blur, I don't undertand why.. I hope they fix this because I like the image but it's a problem for me in that aspect.

The Ace pro looks great, but will go with DJI for their ecosystem and inspiration toward innovation.

I think all these action cameras are great. I have a Go Pro, Insta 360, DJI and even an SJCAM C300. I take turns using them. Honestly, I find myself on occasion using the cheaper SJCAM more than the more expensive action cams. It’s just so easy to use. And as for shooting after dark I never do. Nothing good happens after dark anyway. They all work really well. To me the difference is how many bells and whistles does one want or need ? I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them ……

Greetings from Japan! Thanks a bunch for this review. No real surprises based upon your previous individual reviews. It’s interesting to watch how everyone evaluated. I find yours least biased. Peta Pixel heavily weighted (as always). From your side to side comparison…I would choose DJI. Most evenly balanced of all 3. Only GoPro advantages lens adaptability. Insta night mode. DJI seems to have more notable standout features that add to practicality. Again thanks for your review. Still in search for a compact full extend tripod. Foldup length critical. In Japan with trains and buses… most add significant bulk. There are small ones but too small or woblbly. I saw your Ulanzi but too long folded. If you ever see one. I am a big fan of Benro. Middle of the road. Especially extension points.

After years of using action cameras i almost totally switched to Iphone, really and objectively better picture quality, better sound so if i don’t run or drive Iphone is better.

both dji and insta far better than gopro. im currently using dji osmo pocket 3, i be selecting osmo action 5 pro. it will be great if dji add a flip screen like insta ace pro.
