Cotton Fields (1969) - CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (CCR) - Lyrics
Chorus1:
When I was a little bitty baby
My mama would rock me in the cradle,
In them old cotton fields back home;

Chorus2:
It was down in Louisiana,
Just about a mile from Texarkana,
In them old cotton fields back home.

Chorus3:
Oh, when them cotton bolls get rotten
You can't pick very much cotton,
In them old cotton fields back home.

For some of us kids in the 1970s, the only entertainment was radio, and listening to such greats as CCR. We would tape their songs, and listen to them over and over again. It wasn't a time of plenty, but we were none the worse for it. The Seventies were special.

I grew up listening to CCR and so many other wonderful groups of the 60's and 70's. I still listen to the same songs along with a few later ones that I selectively added to my favorites. I'm retired now and spend a little time each day listening to music. Let's always keep the classic songs alive. Thanks and take care.

One of the best songs I've ever heard. It takes me back to those happy years of the seventies of the 20th century.

It was in 1975, the day with my teacher and friends went out picnic, we were listening the song, I was young, my teacher told me about the band CCR, in those days my schooling was outside my state, this morning when listening the song reminds me my youthfu younger days, yes in 2020 still listening and its a big yes till date.

Yup! My momma would play this for me and sing it to me when I was little in the 70’s. Momma went to be with the Lord in July. I miss her terribly. But, this brings great memories of her as a young woman.

This song touches my heart.... Reminds me of my late Mum. Growing up in a humble cotton farming family in Eastern Uganda 😢 😢and life is still treating me badly....
I came to know this great song through my Swedish....he had the CD back in 2007 from that time till date i sing it with my children. CCR still rocks and is my phone ringtone.

This just randomly popped up while listening to my local radio.
I'm not a "farm" or "ranch" person.
I always grew up in a city.
I was born after 2000.
I generally don't like country music.
I'm not even american, nor have visited a place similar to the one describe in this song.

And yet, somehow, this song makes me feel at home
