Evil is a good word to describe this situation. Another word that comes to mind is DIABOLICAL.

It's sad because when the internet wasn't as controlled in 2010, 'conscious' rap was on the rise again. It's always had its place, but it was getting much more attention than ever before at that time, I feel, and then trap and now drill took over very fast.

Krazy Bone from bone thugs n harmony said the exact same thing in a interview awhile back

The prison industrial complex is very real, no conspiracy to it. What I hate though is when people talk about how gangsta rap or "negative music" is pushed and sit around helpless like there's no other choices.

Especially in the world of the internet we live in today, I don't see Apple music, Spotify, YouTube or any of these streaming services. These companies aren't trying to bar you from finding anything.

Its the old chicken or the egg question. Do you want this music because they push it, or do they push this music because they push it? And I think it's the latter, no one is taking your head and forcing you ear to a speaker, no one taking your hand and forcing you to search for that music. If that's what's on the radio, no one says that you have to turn the dial to that station.

Simple fact is, if people wanted positive rap music they'd go seek it out, again in this day and age where you have a world of music at your fingertips, there's no excuses.

But to the vast majority if people that positive music is "lame" and if they can't turn up to it, then turn it off.

I don't believe in all that mind control and certain waves in the music make it addictive or whatever. I listened to gangsta/violent rap my whole life and never once have I don't anything violent, joined a gang, sold drugs, any of that bulls***.

Lets call it what it is. You have a lot of easily influenced people out here, especially teenagers, with no guidance and they don't want to be caught listening to that "lame" positive s*** because peer pressure and they don't want to be seen as weirdo and outcasted. And I understand that, it's way easier for me to say f*** peer pressure and popularity as a grown man, I've been a teenager before and between both worlds. But what I also had was friends who listened to a wide variety of music, and a dad who lived that life and made sure I stayed out of it, something that a majority if kids I grew up with didn't have.

I’d say this even if it was a conspiracy theory it’s way too many coincidences look at drill rap in 2012 till now how many rapper are either locked up or in jail as we speak

Music about crime was gonna happen regardless, but it's true that the executives had the choice to promote it or not. Just imagine what else is happening with what gets promoted in not just music but social media, news reporting, the health industry, tech, etc? Never ever believe that executives have people's best interests at heart. They worship money and nothing else. The world is continually under the control of evil people.

It’s a shame we have to be sooo picky with the hip hop today because of all the negative hands involved

This makes a lot of sense. It wouldn’t surprise me that the private prisons are in on this.

So did all the people that listened and acted on their degeneracy think they would be off free with no consequences?

I appreciate you not trying to sell this theory, but considering if its true or not with multiple sources and opinions on the accuracy of the letter.

Great vid as always. While it might be a conspiracy it sure helped the executives make tons of money from the pain and struggle of poor America. OUR struggle is their entertainment and business.

I remember the letter when it first came out. Conspiracies like this are a distraction. Anyone who has ever lived in the hood or a lower-income area where incarceration is an aspect of daily life will tell you violent music is an effect, not a cause, of a repressive police state. The drug war was already locking up people left and right years before this "secret meeting" allegedly took place. And yes, the author of this letter used way too many specific details about themselves for someone wishing to remain anonymous. I'm certain most of the people who believe this tale are those same suburban white kids who were some of gangsta rap's biggest consumers.
