Does the M4 MacBook Air Live Up to the Hype?

My current work laptop is a 14" MacBook Pro M3. My personal laptop is a 15" MacBook Pro i7 from 2018, haha! I think I'll see a nice speed bump getting the 15" MacBook Air M4, lol!

For the last 2+ years, my iPad Pro M1 was my only portable "computer, " but the M4 MacBook Air made me switch over, as it's so fast, has great battery life, and it can do that extra 10% that my iPad couldn't do! I got the 13" midnight, and I'm very pleased with it!! Then still rocking the M2 Pro Mac mini in home office for "heavier lifting" with lots of stuff plugged in.

i am a developer, i have an asus m16 with an i9 + 3060 and linux. i recently bought this mac air m4. i ran unit tests in the project i work and it did 18 seconds against 32 in the i9. i coudln't believe.

I just got the 15” M4 16/512 for £1250. For reference, last year the M3 15” 8/256 cost £1200. This is such good value.

Watching this on my new MacBook Air M4 in Midnight. Solice dBrand Skin applied and LOVIN' it big time. Huge! So beautiful!! Glad I pulled the trigger on this year's upgrade. Now for it to last the same long life as my previous MacBook Pro 2010 or my MacBook Pro 2017 and I'll be thrilled. Seeing as it cost the same amount as they did back then at nearly $2500 CDN.

Been loving my new Sky Blue m4 Air but 13" has been my sweet spot for portability and value.

3:10 That’s why I decided to actually pay more for a 15 inch Air when it was cheaper for me to get the base 14 inch Pro. Both with M4. Screen size is way more noticeable in most usage. It’s so nice to use Xcode without an extra monitor on my couch since I can leave the code, the storyboard, and the device simulator on screen at the same time.

I would go with 16 inch pro if it wasn’t a lot heavier.

I had the starlight (gold) M2 MacBook Air and that color was super clean looking, it looked silver until you had it next to something that was actually gray or silver then it looked like a light gold color. The only issue I had was just like space gray, dark blue, or any of the other colors on the MacBooks is the paint peel that happens around the ports. I never cared for silver but since the silver ones stay looking the best long term, I now only buy silver when I pickup new Macs.But this sky blue looks to be as light blue as the starlight is to gold.

I bought the sky color 15” as well. It feels like a premium piece of hardware. As a windows and Linux guy, getting used to the OSX way of doing things can be a bit frustrating. There are also some really cool features in OSX that seem way better than windows.
