Transistor is another top-down adventure RPG by Supergiant Games, and it is hard to miss their signature flourishes of story and plot vividly forecast through real-time narration. Though the mystery will remain mysterious, the combat system is something that players will quickly adapt to and begin to take full advantage of its unique combination of real-time and turn-based combats. An addition of a NG+ mode is also a welcome addition to the game's replayablility, as a single playthrough may take as little as 5-6 hours.

Best review I've seen for this game. I watched a bunch of other reviews when Transistor was first released for the Switch and all they really spoke about was the story and the setting. Thanks for going into the gameplay!!

I got this totally for free on my mac when epic games were giving it away (no joke and they are still giving amazing games weekly, check it out), but re bought it to play handheld cause of the recent sale which was just ridiculous.. it was like 4 dollars or something. Great game, as is Bastion. Cheers.

With what you explain about this game I might be interested but for the moment it's not on sale in France. So with the full price at 16, 79€ and the fact that I bought Bastion a few months ago when it was on sale, but I still didn't find time to play it 😁, concerning Transistor I will wait for the moment. But I keep it in mind in case it's on sale at 1€ later on.👍

I got it for "free"on PS Plus (and got the platinum) and I'm tempted to double dip. The gameplay is phenomenal!! I can't wait for their next game!!

This game definitely took me longer than 5-6 hours. Looking at my Steam library I see it listed as 14 hours played. I really liked mixing and matches skills so I probably sunk a bunch of time clearing the challenges in the Backroom. The review otherwise, is dead on accurate. The wallpapers I made from this game are some of my favourites. For the $4 this was going for on the eShop it is a definite must-buy! Supergiant have said they're not planning on porting Pyre but we'll see. Hades is also releasing soon so maybe we'll eventually see that too at the end of 2020?
