Game 117: Chirinos has an ERA of 9.33 since joining Atlanta. The offense almost brought us back but we lost at the end, I'm happy with 3 of 4. I'm excited to see them play the Yankees tomorrow, that will be a fun game.

Now that Verlander and Scherzer have left the Mets, Senga is the ace of this team. And he is also a top 10 pitcher in the NL. Hopefully the Mets can rebuild their rotation with him as a pillar next season.🤞

- CHIRINOS IS NOT A STARTER; Tonight showcased that. COULDN'T FINISH THE 5TH INNING, Allowed 6 Runs on 7 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out 5. He drops to 5-5 with an ERA of 5.22. Snit NEEDS to make a choice on him now. 4 Starts, 3 Runs or More Allowed in EACH of those starts, and that 'Win'? It was more because the Offense BATTERED the Angels, NOT because of Chirinos. Either DEMOTE HIM TO THE BULLPEN, AAA-Gwinnett, or DFA Him. I'M OUT OF PATIENCE.
+ Props to the Bullpen for Keeping it Close! McHugh and Yates teamed up to Limit the Mets to 1 UNEARNED RUN on 3 Hits, Walking 1 and Striking Out 3. McHugh's ERA stands at 3.55, while Yates' ERA drops to 3.00!

- Well... The Phillies LOST to the Twins, Meaning they DON'T Gain any ground on us.... And BOTH the Marlins and Nationals Pulled off IMPRESSIVE COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORIES Against the Wan-I mean, Yankees and A's! That Keeps Atlanta at 11 Games Ahead of Philly, 14 Ahead of Miami, 22 1/2 Ahead of York, and 23 Ahead of Washington.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Mets will Remain at Home at Citi Field to Greet the Team That SPLIT a Series with the Braves: The Pittsburgh Pirates.
Strangely, The Pirates have NOT YET made a decision on who's starting Game 1, while the Mets will turn to Carlos Carrasco to try and start some sort of Win Streak for the Metropolitans. Carrasco is coming off an Okay Start against the Cubs, in which he allowed 2 Runs on 3 Hits in 5 Innings, but got a No Decision.

Can the Pirates STOP the Mets Optimism in their Tracks?
Or Will Carrasco and the Mets get something going to stay OUT of the BASEMENT OF FAILURE IN THE NL EAST?
