After 17/18 yrs as a long haul trucker with no chargeable accidents, the ability to read, to a great extent, the other drivers, has come in quite useful in my many years of riding on two wheels. Now retired, 71 years old this August and on my 4th Harley, I still find your weekly educational videos very helpful. I used think that I knew it all, , , , it's Amazing how age allows most of us to still benefit from instruction. Thanks !

You are a good man. I would not have been nearly as patient with Miss Sunshine.

I wrecked back on July 13, 2001, when a car pulled a lethal left turn in front of me. The driver was stopped waiting for me to pass, (I thought), and I was aware of it, but as I reached the intersection the driver proceeded to turn. She then saw me and slammed on her brakes just over half way across my lane. I counter steered right to avoid the front end of the car but there was a telephone pole right at the corner so I steered left but in doing so flipped the bike onto its side so I went high side landing on my head and left shoulder and rolling down the road. For my trouble I sustained and broken collar bone, stress I my back and shoulder, skin scuffs on my left elbow, side of left knee and left ankle. I was wearing a helmet, leather jacket, jeans, gloves and riding boots. I always remember arguing with God that morning that I wasn’t going to wear my helmet. He won out and I did. If I hadn’t been wearing it that morning I likely would have been killed. The top left side of my helmet had a deep scuff that would have been my head. I thank Him and ask Him whenever I go out to ride to remind me to dress right, be aware of my surroundings, drive defensively, and protect me as I go out.
Thanks Kevin for your hard work, you are being used well.

Dear Kevin, I am a fan from Germany and I am infinitely grateful for your experiences you share here. Your sincerity and your self-reflection are a gift for me as a 53 year old beginner on a motorcycle. I've learned so much more from you than in driving school and I'm starting to understand that riding a motorcycle, if you take all your advice to heart, is a wonderful and never-ending learning process that is fun. Because it's a great challenge to keep developing your driving skills for your own safety and that of others ...Thank you so much for your inspiration!

The actress that played Miss Sunshine and Lolly Pops should win an Emmy. LOL
Great story Kevin.
How I became a Rider Coach. Two co-workers took the MSF course. They told me all about it and I was intrigued. I had been riding 25 years and was already a trainer. I took the MSF BRC to see what it was all about. I learned quite a bit! Mostly, using the friction zone. Twenty five years of riding and I used the clutch like a on/off switch. Why did they want me to burn the clutch up on the little night hawk? Third time in the u-turn box the light went on and it all made sense. Well, now 17 years later, I still love being a MSF RC. Thank you for all you do in our community Kevin.

Finally did it, after watching your videos for several years I have signed up for a motorcycle safety course! I practice these maneuvers in a huge parking lot every time I ride, but I keep hearing you say that there’s no substitute for the course. Thanks!

I may have mentioned it before, but in 2020 I traded in my HD touring for a Can Am Spyder RTL when I retired. Thirty years in the profession (LE) left me with a bad back and hips. Didn’t want to stop riding…
For the First 600 miles, I was sure I’d made a horrible mistake. So, I went to a local football stadium and started practicing. Going from forty years of two wheels to a Spyder took relearning and practice, practice, practice.
There is no substitute for practice.

Thanks for your humble honesty regarding your crash. From watching your videos I learned so much about how much the rider contributes to their own demise. 😎

Sitting here resting a broken collar bone from a Head on collision Christmas eve,
Car travelling wrong direction on slip road for motorway, no time to break only evasive action for narrow gap, when came to no car to be seen,
