Hallelujah #SlowAirSunday

This Sunday I am so pleased to share with you all "Hallelujah" played on the Bagpipe. An utterance of the word “hallelujah” as an expression of worship or rejoicing.

This beautiful Modern Air was a special request from a Veteran's Family and one that I had been wanting to learn for a long while. It makes it more special knowing that this was a song that was a favorite of one of our Veterans. It brought so much peace and healing to the family and brought so much joy to me as the Bagpiper. I know that the Angels were singing the day I played this and I hope that it brings a sense of peace and comfort to all who listen.

Tune History:

"Hallelujah" is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, originally released on his album Various Positions in 1984. The song has been used in film and television soundtracks and televised talent contests. "Hallelujah" experienced renewed interest following Cohen's death in November 2016 and appeared on many international singles charts, including entering the American Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. Hallelujah also increased popularity after being featured in the film Shrek in 2001.

I live in Taylor az another beautiful place in az. Both of my dads parents who have passed on where in bagpipe bands in South Africa 🇿🇦. Many years ago. My grandfather played what I call the spinny drums, my grandmother was a dancer. I guess bagpipes r in mah blood!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 long live Scotland

I heard some bagpipes players walking through our street in a posse against poverty. This instruments gives me goosebumps all over my body. All electronics Bye-bye, there is not one instrument that can give me this feeling. Bad English

I knew a piper in 2 SCOTT who played that very song in a small cafe bar in Gemona del Friuli. He's passed on.
I've also walked that same desert wearing that same Kühl hat. PX special... If I'd heard those pipes, I'd have climbed up to see who was playing. RIP Mickey.
