Somewhere Over the Rainbow #SlowAirSunday
Показать описание
This #slowAirSunday features "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I am dedicating this tune in Memory of the innocent Children who have been taken too soon from this world.
"Every year I have been given the opportunity of playing the Bagpipes for a Memorial service put together by the Garden of Innocence for these tiny Angels. There are never words to properly express the feelings that go through me as I watch the love and care that these sweet innocent souls receive as they are properly named & buried. Some of you may have noticed a tiny white feather that I have been wearing in my Glengarry. I received this white feather after playing for these sweet babies. As the Doves were released, this little white feather gracefully fell down in front of me and I knew that it was a gift. I wear it with reverence and in Memory of these little Angels. Today I want to dedicate this #SlowAirSunday to these beautiful souls. May the Angels watch over you in your sleep and may we one day meet somewhere over the Rainbow." - Tress, Dark Isle Piper
Tune History:
"Over the Rainbow" is a ballad composed by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg. It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and was sung by actress Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. Harburg claimed his inspiration was "a ballad for a little girl who was in trouble and wanted to get away from Kansas. A dry, arid, colorless place. She had never seen anything colorful in her life except the rainbow".
Words to this song:
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a lullaby, oh
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dream of
Dreams really do come true-ooh-ooh
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops that's where
You'll find me, oh
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can't I? I
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that's where you'll find me
Oh, somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to
Why, oh why can't I?
