It first worked to boot into restore mode but then i downloaded firmware for the Iphone 5S but couldn't figure out how to start restoring the phone with the firmware and now it won't boot into restore mode, nothing happens when i press both home button and power button and home key, and nothing when i shut down the phone and then only pressing and holding home button only.

Thank you for your help! I was able to restore it via itunes following your instructions. However, my iPhone 5 is back to the initial screen which says: iPhone is disabled/ Connect to iTunes. I tap and nothing happens. I guess it is still locked. Can you please help with this? Thank you.
