Watch live from Charleston, South Carolina, where two weeks of hearings about the implosion of the Titan submersible continues.

The Coast Guard is holding them as part of its investigation into why the sub imploded in summer 2023.

Scheduled to appear later in the hearing are OceanGate co-founder Guillermo Sohnlein, former operations director David Lochridge, and former scientific director Steven Ross, according to a list compiled by the US Coast Guard.

Never thought I'd sit and listen fascinated by the scientific and legal debacle of submersible creation for 7 hours but here we are. Sure Netflix will be straight onto this. Well done Lockridge for doing the right thing.

So not only does Mr Lockridge (and several others) tell them repeatedly that there is issues with the sub and just outright get ignored by upper management in the pursuit of sheer hubris, money and death seeking behaviour. He then goes to OSHA who seem to not want to know then Ocean gate lawyers at the time demand he shut up and give them 10k for the privilege of going away….. Deary me, what a mess.

Where would it be possible to obtain a copy of the exhibit files in this case? I assume there will be SOME official record of the entire proceeding?

Seeing the cut off and the torch shining through was horrifying and a show stopper.

This story cannot be told properly without a drama of 10-14 episodes or so. The debris field left in the wake of Stockton Rush's ego is just that big.

The last part is more OSHA Gate than Oceangate.
Neglience from their side too. Scotsman was qualified and knew he was talking about. It wasn't kindergarten, "Miss" "Johnny is secretly eating sweets" and tattletale.

Scotsman is a real woodcutter. Leaves no chip unturned. Someone for the Highland Games?

Was the winding and autoclaving done in 10-20 stages? Autoclaving 5" of CFC would be ridiculous and not feasable.

Whats the point of this OSHA? What are the enforcement powersof the organisation?if any?

what a voyage, i wonder if his wife ever regrets to present ocean gates offer to her husband....by the way Osha seems to not work so well nor provide protection for whistleblower

This is the most credible witness so far.

The first witness made Lochridge sound like a total jerk, impossible to work with, making all kinds of bad decisions, but it seems the truth was quite the opposite.

Lochridge comes off as honorable, honest, and courageous with genuine care for his fellow human beings. Good on him!

It is becoming very clear that the Titan implosion was an entirely avoidable tragedy.

I always find it particularly fascinating to listen to professionals and experts talk about their areas of expertise, especially in an environment like this with other experts and military professionals.

IMHO the glue layer is too thick. It will always peel off with this load case.
The polar surface bindings should be the strength, kind of a narrow fitting solder joint were even solder material permeates in the crystal latice of the surrouding material.

Wow. Riveting testimony that includes the complicity of OSHA in burying their investigation.
