We're NOT Surprised, in a Good Way! NEW RIDGID SubCompact Impact Wrench Review [R872071 & R872081]

These new RIDGID 18V Brushless SubCompact Impact Wrenches outperform the claims on the box. Expect to see the new RIDGID R872071 and R872081 impact wrench hit the Home Depot shelves in February 2023. You can get these as a bare tool, or you can get the kit with a 2Ah battery and a charger. Even with the battery, these SubCompact Impact Wrenches are just 3 pounds. RIDGID claims up to 250 ft-lbs of breakaway torque, and we definitely put them to the test. #impactwrench #homedepot #ridgidtools

Home Depot online has Ridgid 1/2 subcompact impact wrench and 3/8 subcompact impact wrench for $179 for the set.

We have the earlier models of compact, mid torque and high torque that cranks out 1500 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. We have never been disappointed with rigid tools. Excellent video!! 👍

I started bought one ridgid drill like 10 years ago and it’s still my workhorse. I didn’t want 10 different batteries so I just kept buying ridgid tools and zero have failed on me. Pretty impressive.

Awesome! Ridgid is awesome. I’m invested 100% in M18 and M12, but I was recently asked by a coworker what I’d recommend for a DIYer as he wanted to get into working on his own truck but didn’t wanna spend too much. Ridgid was the first brand that came to mind (Cuz Makita sucks hahaha) and Dewalt is usually a bit pricier. Not to mention the warranty Ridgid offers is frickin awesome.
He ended up getting a deal on batteries, a ratchet, drill and I forget what else. Good to see I didn’t steer him wrong haha

I started off my battery powered tool use with Ridgid years ago. The Tools themselves held up but their batteries did not. I bought their 5 PC tool set with two 5amp batteries (I think) but within 4 months first battery died. Took over a month getting it warranted then the charger died. Bought a new battery and charger then the second original battery died.
I never did get Ridgid to warrant that one. I finally gave up and sold the set. Went to Milwaukee and have never looked back.
I am looking for a 1/2 impact to carry in the Jeep for off road excursions.
Thanks for another great video brother.

I hope these are a sign that RIDGID is bringing back the tri-lights to the impact tools that have been MIA when they went from GENX5 to Octane and then to "SubCompact" and "Brushless" line of tools

Once again great presentation! You covered all the relevant points! Power(500)ft lbs out of a 3lb tool! Amazing! 👍

I have the old 3/8" subcompact. It will do lugnuts all day. Love mine and these seem even better. Ridgid is waaaay underated.

I like RIDGID. The feel of the tool in my hand and how it functions. I can see RIDGID coming into the arsenal soon.
The Tri-LED sells it.

I would love to see this with the 8ah Battery since that's the one that uses the 21700 cells in it. Would be a cool video to see the difference between the non 21700 vs with them on the new rigid tools.

That 1/2 didn't struggle too much at 500ft. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the videos I've seen on your channel this is the only sub compact to hit that mark (excluding the Stubby 3/8 welded adapter vids) even topping the Dewalt DCF921. I was about to pick that up, but have a bunch of Ridgid Octane 3.0 High Output Batteries that can give it a bit more boost with the 21700🔋's👍🏻

1/2 inch subcompact impact works great for reaching up under the deck of my zero turn and taking blade bolts loose in seconds

Any chance you could run the new Skil 12v 3/8 impact wrench through this test to compare against the first model? I would greatly appreciate that video.

I bet you that 3/8 drive would do the 450 if you use no adapter and actually had the right 3/8 socket TTC has done test on this. Or low profile adapter may give you more torque too they've shown that also. Definitely like the Tri-Beam LED on the face much better than the one by the trigger. And watch your own video The thing wasn't moving at 7 or 8 seconds It took a whole 15 plus to get it to move. Which you always do I don't know why you don't put in a beeping alarm at 10 seconds so you know when to stop

👏👏👏👏 I believe in using the right size impact wrench for the job that it’s meant to be used for with right Ah battery🙂🙂 I don’t have Ridgid cordless tools yet, so far my Ryobi & Metabo HPT get the work done. Keep’m coming

Thanks for the test. Awesome. What's that tool that you used to set the torque?
