I hate that having outside children is normalized in the Black community. No way in hell should a woman tolerate pretending to love and care for a child born external to the marriage while her household funds/resources are reduced. IMO it is completely unacceptable and absolute grounds for divorce.

There was a sitcom on Netflix (I think) last summer starring Mike Epps and Kim Fields. In the sitcom, Mike's character had an outside child the same age as the child with his wife. My cousin was a huge fan of the show, but I thought it was disgusting and yet another attempt at normalizing unacceptable behavior. I think it got canceled. If so, good.

I feel like if you’ve tried and exhausted all help then it’s time to throw in the towel. Some people file for divorce without even trying to talk it out or go to counseling.
