As an expert with 20 years experience, this is the best disarmament you will ever find.

Learned this when taking Jiu jitsu in highshool. The Instructor was just not about any fake disarming BS.

For any badass that thinks they're going to win a knife fight, two things:
1) Ever tried to get an uncapped marker away from a toddler? Now imagine that with higher stakes
2) The winner of a knife fight is the guy that bleeds out on the way to the hospital instead of the sidewalk.

Seriously don't try to fight an armed opponent

it!!! 100% correct response. Knives kill damn fast, and no, your martial arts knife defence is not your best option, it is absolutely last resort. If you have any doubts about this whatsoever, I challenge you to try this exercise. Find someone to do this with, man, woman, kid, young, old, it doesn't matter, and in fact, it's even more eye opening if it is someone much weaker than you. Get a small blunt object to use it as a pretend knife, and take turns at trying to "stab" each other with it while the other tries to defend. You will quickly discover that it is incredibly hard to prevent yourself from getting stabbed. Don't do it in real life. If someone is robbing you, simply hand over everything they ask for. You can replace money, you can't replace your life.

This honestly is the best defence in a knive fight, unless the foe is very good at throwing them

The loser of a knife fight dies on the sidewalk, The winner dies in the ambulance.

I see he went with the legendary Joestar secret family technique. Truly a wise man.

I came back for this after 4 years watching it

There's a legendary boxer that never lost a fight but never had to throw a single punch.

It’s 2022 and this still brings a smile to my face 😂

This is smart on so many levels:
If you fight you have a high risk of being seriously injured or even killed. If you run the risk shifts to the attacker. Running with a knife is dangerous. Even if he throws the knife at you (in the case he has a throwing knife AND the skill to use it) the more distance the better.
But let's assume you engage in combat and are a skilled fighter: Even if you are the best mma fighter in the world and your opponent has no skill at all he can still hurt you with dumb luck. But let's assume you don't get hurt. There is a high chance that you have to defend yourself with a move that forces the knife against you attacker and injures or kills him. Good luck in the court if you have no witnesses. The best result would be to disarm the attacker without hurting him or yourself and force him to surrender or flee. Again good luck with that! By fleeing you automatically achieve the best result: No one is hurt no one goes to jail. Being smart is sometimes neither cool nor heroic. Just smart ;)

Half of bravery is running . We say it in proverb 😅😅😅😅😅

there is old joke in russian which can be translated to something like that:
instructor - for a navy seal to engage hand to hand combat, first he must lose gun, knife, helmet, body armor, boots. then he must find empty area with no rocks, sand, trees or anything else. then he must find on that area same level idiot as himself. now he can engage hand to hand combat with his oponent

It's funny 'cause it's true.

Well, running away is always an option. It doesn't make you a coward, that means you are smart
