The Fourier Transform Zoo, PHYS 352

In this video, a library of Fourier transforms is built by progressing in rapid succession from a simple sinusoid to a Gaussian. In between, the logic behind the transforms of a decaying sinusoid, a modulated sinusoid, a finite sinusoid, a boxcar filter, a Dirac delta function, and a triangle function are shown to fit within this progression. Many of the transforms are reasoned conceptually, and relationships between, and limiting forms of, the transforms of many of the functions are revealed. All this in 18 minutes.
