To sum this 7 and a half minutes video up. The 8 is marginally better than the 7. The only real upgrade is built in wireless charging, which you could just drop 50 to 70 bucks and buy a case that does the same thing.

When compared to the iPhone 7 there is really no reason to upgrade, I don't know why you think it's a big step forward. The components inside are slightly better and it supports wireless charging, I don't think that justifies an upgrade though. Going to wait until next year when Apple hopefully do make some actual changes.
