Using the iPhone 8 in 2024 - worth it? (Review)

The iPhone 8 was released 6 years ago and didn't get iOS 17- leaving it on iOS 16 forever. Luckily, not only is it still a great phone, but the design lives on in the iPhone SE- how does the iPhone 8 hold up going into 2024?

I have a 14 pro max, and I’ve had every single iPhone since the iPhone 3GS

The iPhone 8 was my favorite phone by far. Unlike the video, this really wasn’t a popular iPhone. It came out about a month before the iPhone X so it was easily forgettable.

This was the first phone with witless charging, and had pretty much the same internals as the iPhone X but in its more reliable home button form. I loved this phone.

It's amazing how old the iPhone 8 is. Time really does fly!

I got the 8 when it was first released. Only now it's on its last legs. I tossed up with But I'm comfortable with it. It does everything I want. So I bought a brand new still sealed in box. I couldn't be happier.

I lost my 12 Pro Max earlier this year and had to use an 8 Plus for a few months until i got the new 15 Pro Max. All i can say is, the 8 Plus is still a good phone, perfectly capable and even fun to use as a phone (calls and text specifically). It lacks everything else that makes a great phone today great, but it was pretty cool to get to use it again and it was capable pf doing what it needed to do with no issues.

I've had the iPhone 8 since 2018 and I've really enjoyed having it, it's a great little phone and perfect for everyday moments. I'm looking to upgrade soon because my battery, camera and charging port are on their way out, but I really like the Touch ID and clicky home button and will definitely miss those aspects when I upgrade to a newer iPhone 😢

Here in the UK the lowest spec iPhone 8 goes for around £130, so about $167 USD. iPhones over here seem to hold their value incredibly well, even if they are no longer supported by Apple.

I use an iPhone 8 and I’ve used it for around 3 years now and it is SO durable like I’ve dropped it 10 million times it’s been underwater many times over 2 minutes WITH big cracks and amazing camera!

I literally still using my iPhone 8 right. Other than the laggy performance these days and pitiful RAM, it' still works and the camera is still good

I’m watching this on my iPhone 8 that I got in 12/2017. It’s still going strong. Never had a problem. My battery has lasted because I almost always let it run to under 20%, then fully charge it 100%. It will last longer this way. 👍🏻

I still use the 8 and been using it since almost 2 years now, and it has not disappointed me. Albeit, the battery life is now at 75% which is very rough, and I have to charge it almost 3 times a day, but running daily tasks on it is a piece of cake as I don't play games. Gonna upgrade to the SE 2020 soon after selling this one, since my budget is tight, and expect to get at least 2 more years out of it.

I have both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. 8 Plus is my daily driver, and the normal 8 is a backup. I absolutely don’t plan on upgrading them, since I am in love with that beautiful creamy gold colour that no other iPhone model has! 😍 They work perfectly fine, the battery health on the normal size 8 is 86%, and on the 8 Plus is 84%. I charge it usually once or twice a day, but I work in the office so it’s not a problem for me. I have tried my husband’s 13 Pro, but I wouldn’t change my 8/8 Plus for anything, haha! I will use them for as long as they work without issues! 👍🏻

I just got the iPhone 8 256gb no scratches on front or back no cracks and it’s unlocked with a new battery with 100% health. and it’s working great so far.

I don’t know why people think just because an iPhone no longer gets new features that means you need to run out and buy a new phone. Security updates and app updates will still be available for years to come as well as support from Apple so there’s really no need to avoid buying an iPhone 6s/7/8/X or to replace one already in use. Traditionally jailbreakers stay behind on iOS updates and they’re generally fine and also enjoy the perks of a jailbreak.

I like how small and compact iPhone 8 is. I have a 14 pro max, and a 15 pro max, and I still like to go light with a simple 8. It fit's the well in the pants pocket, and has all the necessary features I need when in minimalist mode.

Still got the 8. Very TOP TIER phone. Love the nostalgia from this iPhone 8 and probably won’t upgrade it for a while. Highly recommend for people that’s in love with nostalgia technology! 😁

I’ve had my iPhone 8 since 2020. It still works perfectly fine! Last year I did have to get a new battery in my phone because it kept dieing extremely fast, but other than that, I’ve have no problems. I don’t rly care about camera quality or any fancy stuff. I’ll get a new phone when this one completely stops functioning.

I have the 14, but I still really miss my OG SE. It was the perfect size, and it just felt more polished and premium for some reason. I just don’t feel that in the newer iPhones, even the Pro models. They just feel glitchy now. Crazy how a budget model feels better in the hand, than the most expensive one. That’s like anything else nowadays, it seems like cheaper things tend to be better than more expensive things.
