Upscale Your Video For Free Using Stable Diffusion

This is a tutorial on how to upscale your low-quality video to 2048x2048 resolution using Stable Diffusion V2.0-v2.1

This process is very simple and does a great job, I wouldn't recommend it for 1 hour video simply because the amount of bandwidth that will be transferred. This process uses raw processing power so it might use up a few GB's of data. So, if your even remotely worried about that, this may not be the tool for you. Do a small video first and see how you like it.

You can run ffmpeg from command line to extract each frame, e.g.: `ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -pix_fmt rgba out%05d.png` While slightly less user-friendly, you don't need to change VLC settings, you won't get artifacts from VLC, and you don't need to play the entire video.

You can simplify this process, by using Blender to split the video into images, and images back into a video.. much more simply and fast. Just letting anyone who reads this know.

Issues I had: You need to pick a upscaler so the resolution will be upscaled. Second is to find the right stable diffusion plugin for krita...

Nice, Topaz is good at upscaling since its only like a few clicks and no cutting or merging of files needed but it is around $150-200

Reanimating with KRITA is good only if there is a small amount of files. I've been trying to restitch 30000 images. Krita crashes every time, I'm now down to 1000 in a batch and given up. Would you know the command for restitch images with ffmpeg?

I would have killed to have this option 12 years ago!
TO be able to go into old videos and photos that I took on my old flip phone & Panasonic MiniDV camcorder, & to upscale the photo's and video's to even 1080 or 4k possible? DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!

I have 2 Dell server chassis both with Dual Xeon's loaded with Ram. It's the PERFECT platform for some P40 or K80 Tesla cards with 24 Gigs of ram to use with Stable Difusion to do the exact thing you are doing here from what I gander.

I honestly have not been so excited about a Computer build in a LONG time either. My son is getting into 3D modeling with MAYA at his school, so this seems to be the perfect time to try this out & get ready for the cold winter season so the servers double up as a space heaters! 😁

I'm trying to upscale old VHS/DVD era videos and the issue with this method is that its giving me this strange "airbrushed" look. I know the issue is probably because of the initial bad quality the AI has to do a lot of guesstimation. Is there an updated better method for restoring old pixelated footage while somehow retaining most of the original look it has?

hello, im triying to do this, unfortunately i cant run the local SD version because i dont have a graphic card, however im running the webui version, means the online version of stable difussion interface, its work, but i dont know what to do in the step where i have put the folders path of my local pc folders, its doesnt work, i guess i have to put some online path to the pictures, any idea if it this posible ?

Description.
Morphing is the process of transforming one image into another. Free Morphing creates a sequence of frames which are the transformation of the source image to target image, giving the appearance that the source image "becomes" the target.
Images must be true color (24 bit) and have the same size. In the program you can create lines (the same number in Source and Target) which describe the transformation. You should create line objects in the same order on boths images. There are various viewing tools for preview morphing.


Features:

- You can specify the number of frames in sequence.
- You can create symmetric sequence.
- You can save resulting movies as animated GIF, AVI and so on.

This way you would get a method to produce less frames in SD and to get rid of unwanted changes between each frames. You could also do a super slow-mo effect :)
