Pretty realistic depiction of how the vets would get real cautious, sometimes to their advantage and sometimes to their detriment

It's amazing how a farmhouse tucked among the trees on along a lonely summer lane can appear to be menacing. This is one of the very few movies to show a Panzerfaust in action.

Good film with plenty of action. The storyline portrayed the climate of the March 1945 western front very well, as the Allies raced to capture any bridge that could get them across the Rhine river. George Segal and Ben Gazzara were excellent in their parts.

His instinct told him that there was danger, and the captain didn't listen. Brilliant ploy of using the German staff car to get close.

This film was shooting in 1968 Czechoslovakia when Moscow sent in the tanks.
The cast and crew had to bug out and finish shooting in Spain and Italy I believe.
There is a great one-hour BBC radio program featuring Robert Vaughn called “Solo Behind the Iron Curtain” that’s a great companion piece to this movie. It dramatizes their plight as the government paints the film company as CIA plants considering that they had all these tanks, vehicles and weapons.
Thanks for posting these clips.

It is because of watching this movie when I was a teen in the mid 2000s I first heard of the Prague Spring and the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia. Then 7 years later I travelled there as a university student!

I cant stand people putting this film down and nit picking, yes its not 100% accurate and some of the caracters were probably too old for military service in real life but its still better than a lot of the computer generated films nowadays.

'Krebs' is played by Bo Hopkins, who also appeared in many TV series, including 'The Rockford Files', 'The A-Team', and 'Matlock'.

Angelo is just like a Human Player's best friend teammate in a WW2 FPS game.

Except that well-trained defenders would let the jeep pass and wait for the main force. Standard ambush drill: let the scouts pass; trap the main body.

"Fury " and this film take place in the same period. And that German car was very cool.

Una escena muy impactante de una emboscada que el imprudente capitán no quiso ver que se recrea en este filme clásico del género bélico. Toda una joya en a extensión de la palabra.

Hmmm In March 1945 trees would have been bare and it was rainy and cold...and all the characters were way too old for the parts they played.
