Sometimes, base audio systems can sound like trash. Fortunately, VW does a good job tuning their non-Fender radios. Unfortunately, this Atlas still costs $45,000. At least the touchscreen works well and there are many inputs.

So I’m not tripping. Just got my 21 cross sport and the sound system is trash.

I just got my 2022 R Line w/o fender sound system which I honestly Didn’t even look into when I got it. Actually when I tested drive it I didn’t put the volume all the way up to just not bother the sales guy lol. OMG once I left the dealer alone in my new car obviously I set my favorite music then I turned the volume all the way up and immediately I got so frustrated and left me very disappointed. It really feel like you are missing 1/2 of the volume there, it’s ridiculous indeed. How can you miss such as an important aspect in the car. It’s not about quality sound it’s just about that music sounds Weak compared with other cars maybe because the size of the cabin. That’s my review

thanks for the in depth review!... this is important because I really want an Atlas but I REALLY dont want to spend over 50K to get the Fender Premium... I was hoping you would like the stock better, but oh well... have a question though... Being over 60 Im old school and still like to hear the music around me in a car and NOT mostly from in front of me... I know the whole concept of sound stage and the Harmon Kardon premium in my outback is great fidelity but I wish it was wider sounding... SO.... if I do have to compromise and get an Atlas with the stock system, Im hoping that without the center speaker in the dash and with the tweeters in the doors you get a wider stereo experience... did you notice that being the case?

The speakers small speakers in the back doors are actually tweeters so it is an 8 speaker sound system 👍
