I have this laptop but with the 2070 super from last year, and man this laptop is great! The thermals are amazing and the battery life is too! It’s a bit on the heavy side but honestly it’s a great laptop. I can play any games in high settings and I break 90-230 FPS depending on the game. I won’t be upgrading this year. Next gen I’ll definitely will be getting another MSI because I haven’t had a single issue or errors with this laptop.

While both are base 125W 3070, why does this have only 5W Dynamic boost while the others has 15W

Have the speakers on the GE66 improved from 2020? They were awful. Poor volume and very tinny sounding. No bass at all. The Aorus 15G and Legion 7i both had much better speakers.

Whenever, it’s available, please review the Legion 5 Pro w/ 3070 since it has a MUX Switch. The current AMD laptops out right now like Asus are being held back due to Optimus, giving the impression that AMD still isn’t better for gaming like Intel.

I can understand no Thunderbolt if it were an AMD Ryzen laptop but this has an Intel CPU. Come on MSI.😡

@Tally Ho Tech I used Intel extreme tuning utility on this laptop and it seems that it thermal throttles at points while playing and power limit throttles constantly while not plugged in. If the CPU is over 90 and goes to like 95/96 at points, is that OK for this kind of laptop?

Hi! Great video! Love your channel, keep it up :-) So I had this machine, but the config with the 6-core i7-10750H and 3070. I just returned it, largely because I just don't like having that weaker CPU for the price. Maybe that's a stupid reason, because frankly the gaming performance was fantastic. I may repurchase an 8-core or i9 version, or maybe a GE76, I haven't decided yet. I had one issue with it and wondering if you have the same. When gaming on AC power and on turbo mode. my battery would drain. Roughly 6% per hour. So very slow, but still, I don't like that it happened at all. I googled and there's apparently an MSI feature called NOS that does this on purpose - pulls extra power from the battery to keep the CPU/GPU at max. Apparently it can't easily be disabled by the user, from what I could find. None of the posts I found were specific to the GE66 though, so I'm not sure if it was this feature happening to me, or a defect. Have you seen the battery being used on yours when gaming on AC power? I know with the previous 2070 models they supplied a 280W power adapter, but with the 3070 they've reduced it to a 230W adapter. I wonder if this is a mistake, because if the battery is getting used when on AC power, maybe the 230W adapter is insufficient. Even if it's intentional by MSI, I really don't think any laptop should do this. I notice that 3080 configs of the GE66 and GE76 have 280W adapters, at least on the US specs page. I think they should have done the same with the 3070. I'd be interested to know what you think? Thanks again for your great videos!

For real?! This is far from being king of gaming laptop since everybody know that throne belongs to Asus rog Zephyrus Dui 15 SE only. It never each over 45db on performance mode compare to this 52 db with option with 4K 120 display.
