the RCF is 1600, the Alto is 249, certainly worth mentioning

you could run 4 of the altos and still have enough money left over to pay your rent

Thanks - mostly Own Hammer at this point; his V2 IR's. He is working on getting these out as I type this; soon he'll have entire ranges of speakers available. Very exciting stuff. I use different IR's for different amps/cabs appropriate to the amp in use.

It sounds good at any volume - lots of headroom, even frequency response, lots of punch if you crank it.

Are the Altos loud enough to gig with as a back line? I was thinking two of those with my 11r to do the job of a 50w valve amp?

Would a set of RCF NX12s also work as studio monitors? I now use two Genelecs. Also when using two NX12s do you still need a Matrix power amp since these are active?

Yes I am via Output 1's XLR. When I need a 'mix' into the RCF, I have a portable small format Mackie Mixer that I can use.

So you're using one NX12? Need to try these out soon. Would be cool if I could use these for monitoring, Axe Fx II live usage and DJing for my son who wants to start with working as a DJ. ;)

Yes, assuming you had the space to put them where you'd prefer. They are powered so no power amp would be necessary at all.

I am using one NX12SMA. They'd be great for DJ'ing up on poles (they have an integral pole mount cup).

The RCF sounds far better.  But I don't have the budget for the RCF.  What good value speaker would you recommend in that case?  Thank you!
