John Travolta dated the mom, Diana Hyland..."He was 23 at the time, and she was 41. Diana was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1975 and underwent a double mastectomy. John Travolta hair was everything. I saw this & Jake Gyllenhaal version when I was in school. The real bubble boy (David Vetter) only lived till 12 yrs old. I wish they could've find a cure or right donor for marrow transplant. Perhaps, could've lived till adulthood. May he RIP. 🕊️

I remember watching this movie when it first came out on TV. Everyone at high school was talking about it the next day. Of course us girls were all watching because of John Travolta. Welcome Back, Kotter was a big hit at the time. We need these weekly movies coming back!

Things we take for granted meant so much to Tod. A leaf, a tree, the wind, a human touch. Humbling. I remember seeing the trailers for this movie and it was referenced by Dinozzo in an episode of NCIS.

Wow! I saw this movie at 14 years old maybe. And just watched it again. Not only John Travolta got madly in love with the beautiful girl, the " quintessential" 70's girl, as someone said in the comments. Love the music, acting, light, photography, script. The 70´s have a warm spot in my heart, I was a teen then too.
